On Clash of Clans, why does troop information overlay the attack screen?

Clashof Clans - Troop information overlays attack screen

which means it's impossible to drop troops at the bottom centre of the screen. I;m on an ipad air2, but can't find anyway of closing or reducing troop info or reducing war zone size ..
Am I missing something basic or has anyone else encountered this problem?
