Canot delete photos from my IPhone 5 s to free storage space .

I have followed instructions going to moments, selecting the photos I wish to delete confirming the deletion.
The photos application closes down but when I reopen photos are still the

Meanwhile I have no storage place left ( photos takes over 7g on my 16 g phone)and can't take any photos

Any suggestions on how to resolve the PB

Have you tried a reboot by holding in both buttons until the Apple logo comes up then try deleting them again. Or get something like Onedrive that offers you 15GB of free cloud storage to move your pics over to that.
