How can I speed up my 12 months old Imac (now running Yosemite)

i.e.: it used to take 2-3 secondes to start and now it takes 10-15secondes.

Any of the following should be useful.

1. Remove Yosemite
2. Do a clean install of Yosemite
3. Buy more RAM

I would suggest getting a download of the previous OS and installing it instead of Yosemite and increase your RAM if you haven't.

Besides the 10-15 second startup time, are there any other problems with "speed"? If its only the startup time, I wouldn't worry about it, but think the suggestions above about increasing RAM are helpful.
