Siri has stopped working, and I cannot install latest update (current is 8.1.1)

Siri keeps saying to try again later. General says I have an update waiting, but when I try, I get message: Unable to check for update, an error occurred while checking for a software update...Cancel...Try Again

Are you on wifi? Or Cellular? If on wifi - it sounds like your internet through the wifi has issues... reboot the wifi hotspot if you have control over it.
