I keep getting an iCloud annoying box repeatedly popping up, how do I make it go away?

iCloud annoying box repeated pop-ups! How to make it go away???

All of a sudden, a box continually pops on my mac computer telling me that it can't connect to the iCloud. (I don't use the iCloud. Never have knowingly.) The box gives me the option to be bugged later or to check my iCloud preferences. How do I get this box to go away and stay away??? It is NOT doing this on my iPad. I do not sync either device with anything else.
