How do I get rid of a picture of a lock with a circle around it on my iPad screen?

my ipad screen has a picture of a lock with a circle around it

I can't remove it from my screen but when I slide the button on the back it shoes the lock unlocked. The picture of the lock has an arrow around it, but can't do anythink with it HELP
