Why can't I get on to my email app? Why am I getting the message cannot get mail the connection to the server has failed?

Can't get on to email app. Message is cannot get mail the connection to the server has failed

this has happened after a Bluetooth transmission of photos. Wifi is fine. I can do internet searches on two differ et iPads and a laptop

you can delete the account and re-add it. Before doing that though- do a reboot- hold power and home button down until the screen goes blank and the apple reappears
