Why won't my iPhone backup to iCloud after upgrading to iOS 8?

after updating to 8.0 my iphone wont back up to icloud and I have 90% of storage space

I don't know. Have you tried the following:

updated to iOS 8.1.1?
gone to Settings - iCloud - and then made sure that "Backup" is turned ON?
If it is already turned ON, have you tried manually backing it up?
rebooting your device or going to Settings - General - Reset and then select "Reset All Settings" just in case you have a faulty setting of some sort?
