Will iTunes Match work with a 1st Gen iPod?

Itunes Match & 1st Gen Ipod

I have a 1st gen 80g Ipod and wondering how it would work with ITunes Match. If I were to subscribe and get better quality songs, would I still be able to physically save the higher quality to my ipod?

As far as I know yes, you would still have to transfer the songs over via your Mac or PC. I have and older iPod and it still works with my Match.

So if I do a reset on my Ipod and then load everything back through ITunes, will the higher quality versions be saved then?
