Which iPad should I buy for my 10 year old son?

Which ipad to buy for my 10 year old son.

My son earned an ipad but I do not know what makes sense to buy. I do not want to pay for monthly service. It should be used at home or at school for fun and for accessing school work. I don't want anything too big either - should be able to fit in a backpack and easily handled by a 10 year old. We are not big gamers and watch movies occasionally. Thank you.

I'd buy an iPad Mini with retina. Get plenty of space and save a few bucks. It's small enough to be really portable and fit well into a backpack. That's just my opinion.

Buy a wifi only model...and go for the largest storage capacity your budget allows...

I would second what September said. I don't think a larger capacity model is needed for a ten year old. Nor would I get an iPad Air. The mini 16gb wifi model would suit him just fine.
