After upgrading from iOS 7 to iOS 8, why didn't my data restore to my device?

i updated from ios7 to ios8 and did a backup on itunes before. when i tried to restote the backup it took about 30 minutes but none of my data was put back on my phone. my iphone was jailbroken too

You also need to sync to iTunes.
