Why am I unable to download anything from the iTunes & App Store?

I am based in Sycamore, IL and I am having problems with my app store and itunes store. I havent downloaded anything in a week or more but today when I tried to download a song and then later an app, it just says waiting, never asks for my password and then eventually closes and shows as if I never tried to download anything. Unsure if this is a problem more than one person has or if I need to go get it checked out. Any thoughts?

Are you signed in to the iTunes & App Store? If so, have you tried signing out and then signing back in? Is the device connected to the Internet?

Also try to reboot your phone.
