Why am I unable to get shared Calendar updates with my iPhone 6?

I have been sharing a calendar with a family member forever now with no problems. Since getting my iPhone6 I no longer get notifications when they make any changes to it. I have gone into settings checked off notify I have synced all calendars still nothing. Others get the notifications. What else should I do? HELO
