my new iphone 6 can receive email but cannot send email

I selected "other" in email types.
I entered pop.companyName.com for incoming mails that worked fine
I entered smtp.companyNam.com for outgoing mails that did not work

Check with your company IT people for any info they might have on properly setting up your phone to work with their servers.
