How do I disable the phone pad?

cant get phone pad off phone tried 2x db tap on main button no jiggle to x out apps??

phone pad comes up on screen and keypad is highlighted in blue at bottom wont go off ? tried to double tap 2x on round button at bottom of phone apps wont jiggle to be xed out?

try rebooting your device- press and hold the power button until the phone turns off then back on
