Why am I unable to find the Auto-Brightness button after the iOS 8.0.2. update?

iphone 5s auto-brightness button missing for ios 8.0.2

Hi all, usually i'm pretty good at troubleshooting problems with my apple product but this time I'm really confuse. I used to have the auto-brightness button always ON as this was a useful option for me. Since the IOS 8 update (IOS 8.0.2 hasn't helped either) I just can't find this option anymore. Can anyone indicate what to do to have this feature available again?

Settings > Display & Brightness..

It's there in iOS 8.0.2
If it's not there try reset...Settings>General>Reset

I am having the same issues with iPhone 6 with 9.0.2 update. Please help. My battery life is also awful lately, that's when I noticed the auto brightness toggle is gone.

For the record. I have tried rebooting, and A soft reset.as well.
