How do I find where the iPhone stores saved text messages?

in General - Usage - Messages it says Messages (Saved) 4.9MB but i can't find the saved messages. Where are they? How do I find and delete them?

I just went into my iPad to check saved messages. Had 1MB. So I went to my messages and had only one. Deleted it. Went back to storage of saved messages to check to see if I cleared it, dang if the storage didn't increase to 2MB. Something screwed up bad. Can anyone help????
