Why did my iOS 8 update take 3.6GB on iPhone 5s?

My ios 8 update took 3.6gb on iphone5s!

will that space be cleared after i intsall the update? else i'm thinking of deleting that update and clear out space as i have a 16gb phone!

If you update over the air OTA your device needs the room to shuffle the files around and will automatically clear the used space after the update is complete

You can also install directly from within iTunes on a computer and it will manage the storage for you and you wont have to delete anything.
