How do I stop i cloud drive upgrading?

I have downloaded ios 8 and I cannot load many apps. I think that this is caused by "verification Failed" There was an error connecting to i cloud.

Can you download and install any apps? Can you sign into the app store? If you think that the iOS 8 upgrade went bad- you may need to wipe your device and restore from back up. Do you have a recent back up? Are you able to back up?
