To protect your security, your Apple ID will be automatically disabled if your account password is incorrectly entered too many times.
If your Apple ID has been disabled and you try to use online services such as iCloud or the iTunes Store, one of the following messages may appear:
- “This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons”
- "Too many attempted sign ins"
- "You can't sign in because your account was disabled for security reasons"
- "This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons"
Reset your account password
If your account was disabled for security reasons, use iForgot (iforgot.apple.com) to reset your account and restore access to the disabled services. You can also click the Reset Password or Forgot Password button in the alert message.
If you are an iCloud user, be sure to type your full email address when you're asked to enter your Apple ID. For example, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Update your settings for devices and services that need your Apple ID password
Other services, such as iTunes, App Store, and FaceTime
