won't reognize my fingerprint on 5s

I got a 5s yesterday, and set it up to logon with my fingerprint. Today it won't do it... I did the iOS update to 8 last night, could that be why?

anything is possible- why not try to register your prints again- go into settings touch id and password

Yes. Whenever you update/restore the iOS on the device, you have to set it up again.
