How do you get out of a page on safari?

How do you get out of a page on safari? There is no x to get that page to disappear.

click on the bottom right on the icon that looks like a page on top of another page- you will then see the x on the top left. You also use this for adding another tab and leaving current open as well- for that you would use the plus at the bottom
