Message indicators no longer working since updating to iOS 8. Why?

I have missed text and emails all day as the message indicator bubble is no longer visible since updating to ios8. I have checked all my setting and reset my phone, so far nothing is working.

Do you somehow have the Do Not Disturb feature enabled?

On the device, go to Settings - Notifications and make sure that everything is set correctly.

Hi!

Same thing happened to me. If you haven't resolved this, do this:

Settings > notifications > messages > Go to 'Badge App Icon > Turn it on

You need to have Badge App Icon turned on for Messages, Emails and Voicemail if you want to have the indictor showing.
