How do I retrieve Apple ID (only)

I have a friend who has an iPad and she doesn't know her Apple ID. I am trying to retrieve it to provide support, but every time I use Apple's "Send me my ID", it sends an email to change the *password*. I have been to several Apple websites (all promising to send the ID, but only delivering a change password option) and over a dozen different Google searches.

So, my question is, how do I get Apple to send her what the actual Apple ID is? I couldn't care two bits about changing the password (yet).

Right. And thanks for that reply (truly). However, that link does *not* tell a person what their Apple ID is. The email it sends *only* allows the user to change their password. It doesn't provide any information indicating the actual Apple ID. That's fine if you want a password change. But if a user wants to find out what (in this case) she used as an Apple ID originally, the link does not provide it.
