Why does my iPhone 5 not charge anymore?

my iphone 5 does not charge any more can anyone give me some ideas why?

Are you using an Apple cable? Does it not charge at all or very slowly? What OS are you running? Have you reset the device by holding the power and home buttons both at the same time until the Apple logo appears?

Following what qbankelt said...when this situations happen, the first thing you try is changing the cable, charger even try another wall socket (or USB port if charging from computer) to see if that is the problem.

If it still doesn't charge, trying turning the phone off or DFU mode (like poster above pointed).

If still nothing, try going to your closer Apple store.

Many non certified cables will not work. Are you using an Apple cable and charger? Also, make sure the cable port is clean. Dust and debris can cause charging problems.
