Music on MacBook not on iPhone

I subscribe to iCloud music service. Last night I loaded some of my CDs on my MacBook and a few of the songs on the CD are not available to play. On the MacBook there is a cloud outline beside the song and on my phone it's gray. What can I do to fix this?

If there's a cloud outline on your Macbook you need to select that to upload it to the cloud. Then the songs should be available on your phone because you have iTunes Match

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to be so ignorant, I can't figure out how to do as you suggested. I don't see a function to do that?

You're fine. On your Macbook next to the song, click on the cloud icon. Doing that will upload the song to iCloud then you should be able to see the song on your phone.
