Accessibility Lock Screen - turned it off, how do i turn it back on?

I recently had my screen replaced and the lock button ceased functioning. I discovered that I could use the accessibility function to re-gain a lock option and it was working fine. My wifi has been playing up and I needed to re-boot the ipad to try and fix that. I managed to get a 'slide to power off' button by holding down the home button as well as the accessibility lock image, but now that it's powered down, I can't find a way to start it up again as the lock button isn't working... help??!!!

If you connect the device to a wall charger, will it not boot up on its on?
