The WiFi connection has been going off on my Ipad air for a while. This time I tried to reset the ipad and the screen went black with only a white apple and a white line below that. It won't do anything now. The screen seems locked on this apple.

First, try simultaneously pressing and holding both the power and home buttons until the device restarts and you see the Apple logo. Hopefully, it'll boot to the home screens. If it displays an iTunes logo and and a USB cord, you will have to connect the device to iTunes to restore it. For future reference, just go to Settings - General - Reset and then select "Reset Network Settings" for Wi-Fi connection issues.

Also, since you said that a white line was underneath the Apple logo, wait until it is finished, if the line is slowly moving across the screen. It could very well be resetting the iPad.

I don't have an iPad, but the only time I ever see the white line on an iPhone is during an iOS update.
