Should I set up my new iPhone 5S as new or use a backup made in April?

Hi my iphone 5s was stolen recently,i am trying to set up a new one . Last backup was in april however i synced my phone a week ago. do i choose to restore from back up or set up as new iphone to have my latest updates?

Are you certain that iTunes didn't back it up when you synced your device last week? If not, I would set up it up as a new device. By the way, what do you mean when you say, "set up as new iphone to have my latest updates?"

An old backup is better than no back up at least most of your contacts as well as some settings will apply
