Ipod Nano won't display exactly whats on it in itunes

most music is under music folder on ipod but not all albums are listed in itunes - also none of whats in playlist appears at all in itunes - i didn't want any music in playlists but that was the only way i could work out to some cd's on the ipod nano - now i want to do some house keeping and copy playlist to Music and delete duplicates - any advise please

I use iTunes Match so that everything in my iTunes library shows up on my other iDevices. I'm not sure of another solution, but this works pretty well.
