Why am I unable to join my Wi-Fi network at home?

iMore Question

I'm trying to connect to the internet at home and I keep getting the message "unable to join the network". I am with virgin media. I used it with no problem at my daughter' s house yesterday, she is with Sky. My laptop is working fine, so I know my router is working.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Re: problems connecting to virginmedia wi-fi

Was there any changes to your network or your device it could be a simply a password issue you should go to settings wifi and Forget the Network and then try and add it again after a reboot of your device

It can be a number of things. Check the Wireless router's settings to make sure your device has access to the Internet. You can also try resetting the network settings on your device.

Networking is tricky; so many variables.

Start by 'forget network' on your phone and trying to connect again

Try rebooting your phone

Power cycle your modem/router.

Check settings on modem/router.

Try resetting the router to factory settings and see if it connects. If it does then it may have been a setting. Go ahead a re setup your network and careful with settings you enable.
