Why am I unable to "send" anything while on this hotel's Wi-Fi Network?

I am in Ireland and have only my I pad as a means of communication to the U.S. I am logged on tithe hotel wifi and can surf the net and receive e mail, but I am unable to send anything. They. Wifi indicates full service but reads No Service. Don 't know what to do. I've started and restarted many times

Try this:

Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars. Under "Accounts" delete the account and re-enter the required ISPs mail account settings.
Make sure the "Mail" slider should be showing as "On". Restart your iPad. Let's know how you got on

It's possible that the Hotel is blocking certain ports. Have you asked the front desk personnel about it?
