Typically speaking, no, but I'm sure the wireless carriers and certain government entities have a way to locate your device, if necessary? Of course, I don't have any proof...:)

I tried to send a reply about this earlier today, and was told that I had to adjust my message or it would have been labelled spam, as I had no links in it and had named no names, I can only assume there is a fairly sophisticated block on this subject ?

if you're on a wifi node with a verified IP address tied to an address - anyone that knows the IP address can map you to its physical address and know you're within wifi range...
