There's no upgrade for Skype (iPad) even though I was prompted to update. Why?

iMore Question

Got notified by Skype of an upgrade and the suggestion to change from an older version. Said to d/ll newer version but it's not that simple on an iPad... Going to the AppStore, and dealing with iCloud... Etc, etc. Any suggestions as to how to accomplish this? Locating Skype in the AppStore just says 'open'...not 'install'

Everyone hates that update. You can no longer exchange photos and videos, according to the reviews.

Yes it's a weird update. When I click on the link to take me to iTunes to download the newer version, it just takes me to the version I already have installed. I'm not entirely sure what the message I got was all about...

Yeah, I got the email about it. But I haven't had it installed in a year.
