I exported my contacts to USB storage, but why can't I find them on my iPhone?

Have read above advice. Have exported contacts to usb storage. You then advise to email them manually, but where on the phone do i find this file?

If I understood well: you backed up/exported your contacts to a USB in .csv or vcf format I assume (?). If you emailed them, then go look for them in the mail app. There should be the email with the attached files and when you opened the contact it'll give you the option to save as new or add to existing contact

Those files can also be uploaded to cloud based apps like Dropbox and Box. I have contacts files in Box.
