Let me try to paraphrase your question....

Do you mean that as of last night you can't SMS your new contacts on your iPhone 3GS?

Is this a new iPhone for you? Have you done a backup prior? Or do you mean that the SMS app can't find specific contacts? Or is the SMS app not working?
