iphone not transferring old number

[iMore Question]

I upgraded my iphone 4 for a 5c today and was told it would switch to my current number in about an hour. I inserted the new sim card and followed the instructions but am still waiting after 5 hours. Should I have inserted the sim card from the iphone 4 instead of the new one?

The SIM cards should be different sizes. I would go back to the phone store and see what they screwed up. Do you have a good signal?
