iMore Question

Im downloading iOS 7.1.2 from my iPod 5g iOS 6.1.3
Oh wow,It's ironic how on my iPad it said about 4 minutes when it didn't even install at ALL.When i tried for second time,it saids "About 5 hours remaining".
I got Linksys WRT54G Linksys Router that goes 2.4 GHz/54Mbps.

Linksys E1000 Wireless-N Router. I was using the WRT54G. I upgraded.

Could be any number of reasons. Heavy load on Apple servers or your Internet provider was experiencing service issues. The WRT54G should be sufficient. I've done multable down load and updates with it.

I really need help people

First of all, let's be reasonable. This is the eve of Independence Day which means that a great of people are prepare to celebrate it and possible traveling to celebrate with loved one. Also, Hurricane Arthur is Strolling up the east cost which strong winds and tons of rain. I'd like to think that the members who are in its path are not concerned about iMore at this time. Do you know whether or not there 's internet -related problems with your ISP? Having said that, be patient. What I recommend you do is the following:

1. Reboot the cable modem and the router.
2. Create a backup of the device you're trying to update.
3. Put the device in DFU mode
4. Connect the device to your computer and initiate the computer's iTunes app.
5. Select to restore it.

Hopefully, the update will go smoothly for you.

When in doubt, just back up your stuff and do a DFU restore. It'll install the updated OS. Then restore your back up.
