Can I add 16GB of RAM to a MacBook Pro after I purchase one?

Hi I am looking into buying a MacBook Pro WITHOUT retina display due to the fact that they can't be upgraded and I was wondering if both the 15" and 13" MacBook Pro's without retina can have 16GB or RAM installed after purchase.

You can upgrade due to the ram not being soldered on to the board i believe
