When calling my iPhone, it says unavailable and it doesn't ring. Why?

If I ring my phone it say's currantly unavailable and my phone does not ring, HELP X

Is there a SIM card in it? Do you currently have service on the device? Do you see the network signal bars at the top of the device? Have you notified your wireless carrier to see if they are experiencing problem in your area or with your account?

Do you have Do Not Disturb activated on your phone?

What model ex 5 or 5S etc. you really need to call your carrier and see if there is any network trouble or network settings that need to be addressed on your phone.
