After charging overnight, my iPhone 4S won't boot up. What can I do?

I have an older iPhone 4 that was working perfectly until this morning. I went to send a text and the screen was black. It charged all night and worked earlier today...now it won't do anything unless it's plugged in and won't make it past the black screen with the Apple logo...just keeps coming up, then going black again, then popping back up. I've tried restarting and holding down the home and power buttons...please help!

Sounds like your battery might be depleted. Do a hard Reset and see if that helps if not you might need to replace the battery

My daughter had the same problem when she had a 4S. It was a defective power button. Good luck.

I would agree that it could be one or both of the answers given. Check with Apple or an Authorized Apple repair center.
