What do I call the recent OS X when I describe the version number?

iMore Question

So most people that I know don't even know what the OS on macs are called (they usually call it Mac OS or something like that) and I use to say OS then "eX" instead of 10, but Apple fans would always freak out and go "are you stupid? it's OS X(10)." So I've got use to just saying OS 10.

Now with Yosemite yesterday, that brings the version to 10.10 and I see tons of blogs abbreviating it as OS X 10.10, but that is basically saying OS 10 10.10, which is just too many 10s. When I describe it to my friends, however, if I call it "Yosemite", they'll have no idea what I'm talking about. Are tech sites just putting too many 10s in their headlines or is there another way to say it?

Welcome to iMore! :)

I just call it Susan and be done with it. ;)

Seriously though, I usually (erroneously) call it OS 10.10 when talking to non-Apple people and Yosemite otherwise. If you are an Apple person, you know what I mean by Yosemite, if you aren't then I could call it 'the latest Apple Mac OS' and people instantly get what I mean.
