My iPad mini retina iOS 7.1.1 is lagging bad can someone help

My brand-new iPad Air 7.1.1 is running really slow and lagging. I've already master reset on the device. it still runs slow and will not catch up. my memory has 8 gigs left. does anyone know how to fix this ? I've already called apple support they said it was running fine plz and thnx for your answer
