Can I share a cellular data plan with my husband?

I am not an AT&T customer . I've purchased an ipad mini with AT&T data capability. My husband has the same ipad. I want to know if I can share the data plan with my husband,

Only by inserting the sim card from your iPad to his. In order to share data, you would have to sign up with AT&T for a shared data plan. There is no shared data between different sim cards if you just add data to your iPad from within the Cellular Data settings.

You can turn on Personal Hotspot. Your husband will be able to use your data plan as long as you're in his proximity with your iPad.

A little addition to what Yukhalisel said. You need to have a data plan which supports the personal hotspot option for this to work. You'll see it show up right under cellular in settings if you have one of these plans.
