iPad Mini vs iPad Air

I'm in the process of trying to choose a tablet mostly for the photography applications and I am torn between the Retina iPad Mini and the Air. I have been seeing that the colors are slightly washed out on the Retina Mini, however I'll be using it often and for decent lengths of time. Any suggestions comparing the two? Thank you

They're both fairly light, if you think that you'd like the extra screen real estate, I'd recommend going with the iPad Air

Welcome to IMore, it's really a matter of preference. I prefer the larger, but the mini is just as good and is easier for transporting.

As suggested by others, I would also recommend iPad Air due to large screen. Since you will be using photography apps, a full size iPad should meet your needs. Although, both tablets are blazing fast and light, but yes, even I have heard that colours are better on Air.
