    Default Wired Network for ATV

I have a router with wireless but I have everything in my house hard wired which I prefer. I'm currently using a Roku which is connected to my HDTV using a USB cable and works great. Can I connect the Apple TV using a USB cable instead of going wireless?

I don't think so. According to the diagram via the following link, the USB port is for service & diagnostics. You can, however, use the ethernet port.

The AppleTV has an ethernet port, and will allow connecting it to any compatible networking device and it will work fine.
