Multitasking Gestures

Is it just me, or does clicking the home button twice to multitask on the iPhone a very old and unintuitive method. I would like to see Apple look at a more efficient way of switching between apps (like on the iPad) that wouldn't wear down users home buttons over time

I suppose more people will agree with you. Personally, I don't think about it. Time will tell if iOS 8 or beyond will introduce a new way of multi-tasking to iOS users.
