Setting up iPhone 5s for Siri

Hi just got an iPhone 5s but when I send a message using Siri it will show up on my phone as sent but the person I am sending it to does not receive it?? Help. I'm so frustrated

Is Siri using iMessage or the normal text message function?

If I sent a message with iMessage on my iPhone 5 to an Android phone, it showed as sent but wasn't received by the recipient. The best thing I did was turn off iMessage.

Yes if it is being sent to a non iDevice but being sent as iMessage they won't get it. It has to be sent to them as SMS. Other iDevices you send to will get it as an iMessage.
