Can't mute on iPhone 5 after IOS 7.1 update

After update, I cannot mute my I phone 5. Any suggestions? I tried rebooting and turning off Bluetooth - no luck , then tried going to settings, general,accessibility,assistive touch, and clicking on button. Still not working.

Either restore it or take it to a nearby Apple Store, after making an appointment, to let them troubleshoot it for you.
