Why does it take 14 hours to download a movie & 5 hours for a 40 minute TV episode

i have an ipad mini that i have sync'd with my new apple tv. i bought 50mg more icloud storage so my 3 movies and 16 tv episodes can be stored. my big issue with this hole thing is that it takes 14 hours to download a movie and 5 hours for a 40 minute tv episode. WHY?

Video files are large... and if it's high definition, very large. And if you have a slow internet connection, it will take time to download a full file, and you can experience issues like stutters/pauses when streaming a media file.
